Andie had "heart" when it came to hunting.  She would start whistling when it was time to go and wouldn't stop until she was in the field.  Andie was the toughest dog ever.  She would eat through blackberry bushes to get to the bird.

When Bess came along, Andie taught Bess how to be tough too and Bess had a few tricks up her sleeve that she showed Andie - like how to honor.

We will never forget the first time we took Cocoa and Daizie hunting on Sauvie Island.  Bess was off doing her thing, but Andie took the puppies over and showed them how to hunt.  She took them in and out of the corn and through the high grass.  It was like she was telling them, "here's how you do it little ones."

Andie was Leslie's companion at work for many years.  Every morning Leslie would say, "let's go to work" and she would grab a baby (stuffed animal) and run upstairs to settle in for the day.

Andie could be a little stubborn at times.  She and Stuart had a few "meeting of the minds" over the years, but deep down she was just a sweetheart.   One day Stuart was not shooting so well and each time he missed a bird, Andie would stand there and bark at him.

It was crushing when Andie got cancer in the fall of 2010.  We made sure she went on one last hunt in Eastern Oregon.  She was 2 weeks post surgery but you would have never known.  She ran through the fields and was so so happy.  You could see the smile on her face.
